Monster Birthday

My first project where I used my new Majestic board from The Glitter Girls (I made the green frame). I am really pleased with the board and my card smells very nice (not at all monsterish!) as I rubbed an old bit of dry soap on the back of the paper to make it emboss smoothly, as per the instructions. It really does work, embossing without the soap was very tricky.

So here is my monster card that I thought would be good for the Paper Play Challenge (Week 20). I had made my monster too big for the oval frame that I originally planned to use and wasn't going to enter the challenge. Then I noticed some of the Design Team cards didn't use ovals either. So I thought, what the heck, I'll enter. I had tried to follow the sketch! Best laid plans and all that!
I spent ages looking for a digistamp for the 13 year old recipient of this card. I eventually found this freebie monster but in the process discovered many more sites selling digistamps and have updated my list (see side bar).
One more thing to mention. I recently discovered the most amazing crafty blog by Yanitza Ramos called Papeles y Enredos. Do take a look, wow! So beautiful!
Have a great week, I am off on my hols and the weather forecast is horrid.

Get Well Soon

As I liked the Card Pattern Sketch #17 a lot I decided to give it another go and another go with my new Sakura pens! Yes if I mention Sakura once more it could get very boring so assume from now on I am using them unless stated otherwise.
Wait till I get started with my first board from the Glitter Girls!
I had some money for my recent birthday and yes I blew the whole lot on crafting goodies.

Big Flowers! Card Pattern Sketch #17

I don't know if I will have time to put all my cards on my blog as I have so many family & friends with birthdays in June & July that I am working flat out. One of my favourite crafters is Madgesty & on her blog I noticed a link to The Daily Dare. Wow, so many card challenge sites all listed in one place. It's fab! That's how I found Card Pattern Sketch and this card is my entry for their challenge.
I cannot begin to tell you how many things went wrong with this card! I think I have managed to cover them up - well most of them!
I recently became the very happy owner of 25 Sakura Stardust pens. Of course every opportunity I can find out come my new pens. I coloured the flowers with Sakura, I wish you could see the sparkle, but the photo does not do it justice.
